Favorite Friday Finds 23.0

Happy Friday!

We have an entire 7 days ahead of us of goooorgeous sunny weather in the 60's and 70's, and it's back to feeling like Spring. I am so very ready to whip out my sundresses and lighter clothing, anyone else with me?

It's been a crazy few weeks with work, running around nonstop, so this edition of Favorite Friday Finds will be a quickie kickoff to your weekend!

Here are my 9 Favorite Friday Finds that I was inspired by, learned from, and laughed/smiled at this week!

1. 10 Truths Wise People Know But Don't Talk about

I love #2 especially-- we get stuck in unsuccessful patterns that make them unhappy and unhealthy, yet until we learn the lesson to change, it stays the same.
Nothing changes unless you change.

2. 15 Things Stopping You From Moving Forward

#1 echoes what I wrote about the previous link, and I know I used to (and still sometimes) struggle a LOT with #2. You can't wait until everything is perfect before you take your next step!

3. This Photographer Took Photos of Sunrises & Sunsets Around the World

I am the worlds biggest sucker for sunsets and sunrises. These images are ridiculously breathtaking and I just want to hop on a plane now!

LEARNED FROM

4. How "Empowerment" Became Something for Women to Buy

This was a fantastic article. The word empowerment gets tossed around all too casually, and has recently really been misused in mainstream media. My favorite segment was:

"Enter the highly marketable “women’s empowerment,” neither practice nor praxis, nor really theory, but a glossy, dizzying product instead. Women’s empowerment borrows the virtuous window-dressing of the social worker’s doctrine and kicks its substance to the side. It’s about pleasure, not power; it’s individualistic and subjective, tailored to insecurity and desire. The new empowerment doesn’t increase potential so much as it assures you that your potential is just fine. Even when the thing being described as “empowering” is personal and mildly defiant (not shaving, not breast-feeding, not listening to men, et cetera), what’s being marketed is a certain identity. And no matter what, the intent of this new empowerment is always to sell."

5. Fermentation = Reason Why You Love These 5 Foods

I love every item on this list. I didn't think of the correlation between them!

LAUGHED AND SMILED AT

6. Dreamy Costa Rica Sanctuary Is Home To 900 Lucky Dogs

Ummmm this is amazing in every single way. Giving a gorgeous open sanctuary to rescue dogs. Can I volunteer for a day? Though, I might (very likely) explode of happiness.

7. Baby and Dog in Adorable Matching Outfits

Need I say more? Come ON.
