My 13 Favorite Ceramic Makers for Mugs

Every time I share a pourover video or WFH snap on my Instagram (which is indeed, often), I usually get a few DM’s asking where my ceramic mugs are from or what ceramic makers I like— so I’m gathering my current favorites here to share with you!

I adore special ceramics. If I could, I’d replace all my tableware with unique ceramic plates and bowls I have on my dream list, but my budget doesn’t quiiiiite allow that yet 😂So instead, I allow myself to grow my ceramic mug collection, one by one— oftentimes as a souvenir from a travel trip or as an “I deserve this” purchase. A few years ago, I would have absolutely balked at the idea of spending $45-70 on a ceramic mug— but it really is a way of collecting fun art pieces for me (people underestimate how much work it takes to make one of these!), and since I work from home a lot, these mugs get used CONSTANTLY. It is one of those things that brings me so much joy in the morning and makes my pourovers feel a little more special, so it is definitely a worthwhile use of my money for me.

Also, I really try to #shopsmall when it comes to purchases like these. Supporting independent designers and small business owners is the way I’ve tried to streamline my consumer practices— I’d rather try to save up and get one special $60 piece from a local, woman-owned small business than spending $20 on a mass-produced mug from a giant retailer.

Below are my 13 current favorite ceramic makers that I love:
